Due to the urban sprawl of Philadelphia and people not being able to attend meetings when the location is moved to different locations across the city, we are converting this network to an e-network. This also allows involvement from folks in New Jersey that otherwise may not be able to participate.

This will be the first e-network in the country Gray Panthers, but the way this will work is all the meetings and planning will be done via e-mail and conference calls.

Our first e-network meeting will be a conference call on January 22, 2009 at 6:30PM. On this date we will have a new President and a lot to discuss. You can attend the first e-network meeting form the comfort and safety of your home by calling in to 1-[masked], passcode 87325.

We will be discussing important issues to you and the people of the community, the direction of the Gray Panthers in Philadelphia, and possibly pick an issue to take on as our first major issue. We hope you, your friends, and people of all ages and races will attend to share their thoughts and concerns.

Unfortunately one of the Grannies for Peace and I, a peace veteran (both of us social/political/economic reform activists) are part of a panel discussion from 2 to 4 PM that afternoon--and our subject is "Rejecting Our Ageist Attitudes"! Obvously I'd love to participate in this call, but can't. Any chance of rescheduling the call?

I want to meet people face to face, not on the phone.
